Free tool · X image downloader
Save the images of any X (Twitter) post in original quality, not the compressed preview. Paste the link and download one photo or all of them. Free, no sign-up.
On X, open the post with the photos, tap the share icon and choose Copy link. On desktop you can also copy the address from the browser bar.
Paste the link in the field above. Every image in the post appears with its original size.
Download a single image, or press Download all to save every photo of the post at once.
Copy the link of the post that contains the images, paste it at the top of this page and press Download. Each photo appears with its dimensions and its own button, and posts with several images get a button to save them all.
Links from twitter.com, x.com and mobile.twitter.com all work. On a computer the images go to your Downloads folder; on Android they appear in the gallery; on iPhone Safari saves them to Files, from where you can add them to Photos.
When you open an image on X, what you see is a resized copy, often 1200 pixels wide or less and compressed. X also keeps the file as it was uploaded. This downloader asks for that original version, so a 4000-pixel photo is saved at 4000 pixels.
Right-clicking an image on X and choosing Save image usually gives you the smaller copy, in WebP format. Here you get the original file in JPG or PNG, the way the author posted it.
A large share of the images posted on X are charts, screenshots of reports and annotated slides. Saving them in full resolution keeps small text readable, which matters when you want to quote a number or study how a chart was built.
For posts that quote another post, the tool also looks at the quoted post: if the post you pasted has no images of its own, you get the images of the one it quotes.
Saving images from X is often how a swipe file starts: charts worth citing, formats worth copying, posts that did well in your niche. The hard part is turning that folder into posts of your own.
